Buckthorn (rhamnus petiolaris boiss) is a striking yellow dye that comes from the seed of the buckthorn plant, also known as Persian berry. Revered in history as a very lightfast dye, the shade of yellow that it yields is warm and bright. Olive green is possible with an iron mordant.
