The Process

Boiled wool is a process where an item is knit loose and large, then shrunk (felted) to create a new fabric – one that is seamless, durable and super duper warm. More simply put, it’s just like when you accidentally shrink your wool sweater in the washing machine, except that we do it on purpose.

We use merino wool, which is soft and luxurious, never scratchy.  The natural lanolin oils in the wool, and the thickness of the felt combine to make a hat that is fantastic in all kinds of weather - rain and snow will bead up on the hat, instead of soaking through.

All of our products are handmade with care in Toronto by Julie and her fabulous team.
