Are the hats and mittens sized?
One size fits most. Our hats are fitted yet stretchy, and will fit almost everyone. But if you know that you have a smaller or larger than average head, simply send us the circumference of your head (measure around the tops of your ears and across the tops of your eyebrows) and send us the measurement as a note to seller along with your order. We will make sure the hat we send you is the perfect size. Same goes for the mittens. They are one size, and will begin small and shape to your hands as you wear them. But if you know that you have particularly large hands (i.e. you wear a women's large glove), just let us know in the notes at the checkout and we will happily send you a larger pair.
Do you make children’s hats?
Our heads grow only marginally after the age of about 8-10, so our regular adult hat will fit most children this age and up. If you would like to order a hat for a child younger than 8 years old, please contact us directly.
How do I care for my hat?
Hats should be hand washed in cold water and laid flat to dry. Though the hat is felted in a washing machine, it will shrink (a lot!) more if you put it in the machine again. If your hat has stretched slightly through extended wear, simply hand wash it – just like any garment, it will tighten up slightly when washed. If you like, you can shape it directly on your head when it is still damp and it will take the shape of your head perfectly.
How do I care for my slippers?
The slippers can also be handwashed, in cold water, or spot cleaned. Again, because of the naturally occurring lanolin in the wool, they don't get sweaty or stinky, and won't need much washing. After HAND washing, you may want to put them through the spin cycle of your machine, to get the excess water out. Then for best results, shape them on your foot before setting them out to dry.
My mittens have gotten stretched out, can I fix them?
Yes, very easily! Give them a hand wash in room temperature water, right on your hands! As you wash and rub and agitate, if they are on your hands they will felt down to the exact size that you need. As with the slippers, I recommend putting them through the spin cycle ONLY, to get the water out, then lay flat to dry.
I stored my hat over the summer, and now the fur or pompom is squished and not as nice. Can I fix it?
No problem! Just give the fur or pompom a shot of steam from an iron or a tea kettle - it will instantly come back to life!
What are your products made of?
All of our products are made with 100% merino wool. Merino wool is incredibly soft and fine, and is suitable even for those who otherwise find wool itchy. Because they are felted, the fabric is lovely and thick and the hats are remarkably warm, yet wool is by nature breathable. The naturally occurring lanolin in the wool also means the fabric is water resistant, making them the perfect all weather hat.

We ship all of our orders from our studio in the east end of Toronto, Canada. Local pick up is available, simply choose that option at the checkout.

We ship worldwide! Shipping is free for orders over $60 in Canada and the US.
What is your return policy?
We want you to be happy with your purchase and gladly offer exchanges and returns! Our products are entirely made by hand which means they may have slight inconsistencies – no two hats are exactly alike. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return or exchange it. Return postage is the responsibility of the customer, but the products are lightweight. Returned items must be received in the same condition they were sent to you in. Please contact us before you return your item and we can help you!
Someone bought me a hat as a gift. Can I exchange it?
No problem! Exchanges are done through the mail, please refer above for exchange information.
Can I add a gift message or receipt to my order?
Definitely. Just let us know in the notes at the checkout that it is a gift, and leave your message for the recipient there. We will send along a nice handwritten gift card with your order. There is no need for a gift receipt - if for any reason they would like to exchange the items, they can contact us via email and we will sort them out.
