Japanese Indigo seeds, persicaria tinctoria, also known as polygonum tinctorium

An indigo bearing plant which is easy to grow in colder climates such as Canada and the US.A green, leafy plant which will grow up to 3 feet tall and produces a small pink or white flower.Leaves can be harvested several times a season for use a variety of fresh leaf indigo processes, or dried to use later. Yields gorgeous soft blues and green blues which are very colourfast.
Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost, harden off before planting out 1 foot apart.
Grows best in fertile soil and full sun - water well once a week. Also does well in containers but should be watered daily.Pinching out the tips when 8 inches tall will result in a bushier plant with more leaves to harvest.
