Many fabrics have natural and synthetic sizings and coatings on them that resist dyeing
This Prepared for Dyeing (or PFD) fabric is free of any of these starches, pectins or finishings that may interfere with dyeing, meaning that it doesn't need to be washed or scoured before dyeing it. It does not contain any mordant, if you are dyeing with a mordant dye, you will still need to do this step.

Weight is fashion weight.
43" wide, sold in 1/2 yard (18 inch) increments.
Will be cut continuously unless otherwise requested. For example, if you buy 4, you will receive a continuous 2 yard piece.

Deanna U. With so much “new” to sort out with this art form, this prepared linen was perfect for my beginner projects. I used this with Julie’s clay resist kit and indigo dye and the linen took the clay beautifully and the results were stunning.
